Head of Sales

We are seeking an experienced Head of Sales to define and lead ion8's go-to-market motion, transitioning the company into a scalable, high-performing revenue organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior leadership role with accountability for top-line results and the systems, team, and culture required to achieve them. Compensation will be based on experience.

This is a remote position, and may be performed on a contract basis. Compensation mechanism is open to discussion and rate of compensation is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously refine ion8's sales strategy in alignment with business objectives; define and segment our addressable market and prioritize verticals, geographies, and ideal customer profiles.

  • Set quarterly and annual revenue targets and lead execution to meet or exceed them; develop scalable, documented sales playbooks and a high-performance operating model.

  • Build and oversee end-to-end pipeline management from lead generation through closed-won; establish forecasting systems and dashboards for real-time visibility into performance.

  • Hire, onboard, and develop Account Executives, Sales Development Representatives, and independent sales partners as the team scales; establish clear targets, coaching cadences, and feedback loops.

  • Own compensation design, quota-setting, and performance management across the sales function.

  • Define sales process stages, handoffs, SLAs, and documentation standards; optimize CRM usage (Zoho CRM) and related tools to maximize efficiency and data integrity.

  • Partner with Marketing on ICP definition, messaging, lead scoring, and the MQL-to-SQL flow; partner with Delivery and Client Success to drive account expansion and renewals.

  • Feed competitive intelligence and market feedback back to Product and Strategy teams.

  • Flexibility to support additional and varied initiatives as needed, including participation in ad hoc and special projects as directed by the company.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record leading B2B sales functions, ideally in SaaS, technology consulting, or professional services.

  • Experience transitioning an organization from founder-led to structured, scalable sales is a strong asset.

  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms; Zoho CRM experience is particularly desirable.

  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Command of the Message or Sandler (adapted to a consultative motion).

  • Strong forecasting ability with demonstrated pipeline management discipline.

  • Experience with sales enablement tools such as Apollo and Loom, or equivalent.

  • Exceptional communication and executive presence — comfortable in both internal leadership and client-facing contexts.

  • Experience building and managing distributed or remote sales teams.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment with a bias toward action.

  • The ability to speak French, Spanish, or Portuguese would be an asset.
